DATAX develops novel algorithms, methods, models and complex solutions in the area of network access, radio environment mapping and monitoring, resources and infrastructure sharing as well as resources allocation, participating in the following international collaborative projects:
- FP7 Security – HELP – Enhanced Communications in Emergencies by Creating and Exploiting Synergies in Composite Radio Systems
Project HELP will establish a comprehensive solution framework for supporting public safety communications aspiring to significantly enhance the communication resilience and responsiveness in emergency situations. The envisioned solution framework consists of significantly strengthening the role and commitment of commercial wireless infrastructures in the provision of public safety communications, especially in the case of aftermath crisis scenarios where the exceptional traffic demand can exceed the capacity and coverage provided by any single infrastructure.
DATAX participates in HELP in definition and establishing the foundations for the development of network and spectrum sharing concepts between networks by identifying outstanding technical advances with respect to current state-of-the art. DATAX is also active in identification of the key features and functional building blocks of the operations and management system needed to achieve a synergic and holistic operation of the composite radio systems.

- Self Organizing Networks
DATAX develops solutions for Self-Organizing Networks (SONs) in close cooperation with network operators for network parameters optimization in on-line loop schemes (network in the loop concepts). The applications focus on on-line monitoring and automated control of chosen network characteristics. Complex measurement data is acquired and pre-processed as a basis for complex cost functions based on several counters, PIs, KPIs, statistics as well as DATAX expert knowledge. The complex set of cost functions drives the propriety optimizers designed to work in measurement oriented environment with limited amount of network state samples.
