Research and Development Domains

DATAX is involved in research of advanced novel solutions for

  1. Mobile Networks,
  2. Defence & Security Systems

In Mobile Networks, R&D activities cover broad range of algorithmic aspects connected with optimization of the radio and transmission networks, new network architectures, data acquisition, modeling and simulation as well as software development techniques. Specifically, techniques targeted at Self Organizing Networks (SONs) and Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs), encompassing exploitation of Software Defined Radio, cognitive device management and autonomous self-x operations for the provision of intuitive applications and services as well as optimization of network parameters are in focus. 3GPP and ETSI TC RRS relevant radio technologies are mainly targeted here. DataX develops also its own demonstration platforms where new algorithms and techniques are tested.

In Defence, R&D activities cover development of robust radio and network solutions for military systems focusing on Software Defined Radio and Cognitive Radio techniques. Planning, monitoring and configuration of dynamic and complex network topologies with self-x and cognitive nodes are in focus. Also, novel signal processing techniques and algorithms for radar and surveillance applications are conceptualized.

In the area of Security, mobile network solutions encompassing infrastructure and resources sharing between mobile and PMR operators in crisis management scenarios and applications are researched and developed.

For R&D activities, DATAX hires its own permanent staff and collaborates with chosen external experts. DATAX also closely collaborates with research teams from Wrocław Research Center EIT+. On international level, DATAX participates very actively to research projects from EU FP7, EDA, EUREKA and other programs.
