RAFAŁ PISZ, Managing Director
Mr. Rafał Pisz has obtained his MSc degrees in Computer Science and Finance and Banking respectively from Institute of Computer Science University of Wrocław and Oskar Lange Academy of Economics in Wrocław in 1997 and 1998. During his study Mr Pisz held the National Education Minister scholarship. In 1999 Rafał established SoftGroup Polska as a software development centre of SoftGroup GmbH, a privately held company based in Germany. In 2000 Rafał joined the AXIT team at a very early stage of the company development. His first task was to establish the Polish subsidiary – the R&D center of AXIT Group, which was managed by him as Managing Director till April 2008. Additionally Rafał was also a member of AXIT Management Board and CTO of AXIT.
KRYSTIAN SROKA, Technical Director
Mr. Krystian Sroka has received his Master Eng. Degree from Wroclaw University of Technology in 1996. After that he started his career as Radio Network Optimization expert. During his numerous assignments he has been responsible for wide range of optimisation activities delivered to to both operators and vendors of mobile networks in Europe, Middle East and North America. After gaining industry experience and in-depth knowledge of mobile communication networks he started his work on measurement-based optimisation tools for 2G/2.5G systems in late 2000. During number of RAN optimisation projects he conducted research on advanced use of measurement data, which resulted in creating commercial product in early 2003. The product is currently available on the market as QBooster – an advanced AFP and optimisation supporting tool featuring unique functionalities that put it ahead of other recognised tools. Krystian is the founder of DATAX.
RADOSŁAW PIESIEWICZ, R&D Advisor
Dr. Radosław Piesiewicz obtained his MSc degree in Microwave Engineering and Optical Communications with Golden Badge distinction from the Technical University of Gdańsk, Poland and PhD degree in Communications Technology with summa cum laude from the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. Currently, he holds a position of Director of R&D: ICT Development at the Wrocław Research Center EIT+, Wrocław, Poland, where he is responsible for the overall research, development and acquisition activities in the area of information and communications technologies. Previously, he was heading Broadband & Wireless Area at Create-Net, Trento, Italy, where he was leading staff and research activities in cognitive radio and reconfigurable optical networks. Prior to this, he was with the Technical University of Braunschweig and Fraunhofer IZM, Germany. Dr. Piesiewicz is an author of 11 journal and more than 60 conference publications. He acquired, coordinated and participated in various positions (researcher, leader, manager) in a number of international collaborative research projects including MEDEA+ MESDIE, MEDEA+ QStream, FP6 Strep Ming-T, FP7 Strep Diconet, C2Power, Fiver, Saphyre, OneFit, Acropolis, FP7 IP EUWB, EUWB – Enlarged Europe, MAE I-Chip. He also acquired, managed and was involved in a number of industrial research projects with NSN, CISCO and Airbus GmbH. Dr. Piesiewicz serves as expert evaluator for the European Commission in FP7 program in a number of objectives and for the National Center for Research and Development in Poland. Dr. Piesiewicz chairs WG3 on Network Wide Cognitive Mechanisms of the COST Action IC0902 (Cognitive Radio and Networking for Cooperative Coexistence of Heterogeneous Wireless Networks) and is Management Committee member of the COST IC0905 Action (Techno-Economic Regulatory Framework for Radio Spectrum Access for Cognitive Radio/Software Defined Radio). Dr. Piesiewicz specializes in and leads research efforts in cognitive radio and networks as well as self-x solutions for mobile communication systems.
